Updates to FirstDefender RM/RMX Instruments Improve Chemical Identification Capabilities

Military and civilian first responders who use the Thermo Scientific FirstDefender RM/RMX instrument are now able toentify more than 12,000 substances, ranging from toxic industrial chemicals to explosives, precursors and white powders.

The Thermo Scientific FirstDefender RM/RMX v4.2 software update adds more than 400 new chemicals to the instruments library, including those on the European Union’s REACH Chemical List and additional explosive precursors, steroids and narcotics.

FirstDefender RM and FirstDefender RMX analyzers are portable, rugged and easy to use in the field. They are deployed worldwide, delivering fast, accurateentification of unknown chemicals and explosives.
